Global Private Markets Operations is a specialist operational partner providing expertise and support to the Private Markets’ asset classes and Investment teams whilst leveraging a number of services from the rest of Operations. We support all alternative and real estate asset classes whilst recognising the differences in execution and specialism across different asset classes, clients, geographies and systems. We also support emerging new asset classes and new products combining different Private Markets and/or traditional asset classes. By bringing these and related activities together, we work together on common initiatives enabling us to become more scalable, efficient and consistent globally.


We are now looking to recruit a Fund Controller on a permanent basis in Edinburgh. This role carries responsibility for a variety of back office and financial control support services across a number of private credit funds and mandates. The role holder will work closely with and in support of the Fund Control Manager. The role holder will also work in support of the Investment teams and other relevant teams to achieve our goals of excellent service, scalability, efficiency and global consistency.


Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely in support of the Fund Control Manager to help meet key deliverables;
  • Review of fund NAV and mandate positions following preparation by third party administrators;
  • Preparation of sensitivity and valuation reports for review and approval by quarterly Real Estate Lending Committee;
  • Preparation of Portfolio Analysis reports and liaising with relevant Loan agent;
  • Preparation and provision of data for client reports;
  • Cash management activities;
  • Preparation of Intercompany loan documentation and transfers;
  • Analysis associated with answering investor queries;
  • Coordinate drawdowns and distributions;
  • Coordination and instruction of invoice payments;
  • Assistance with activities associated with delivering new products and strategic projects;
  • Supporting the Investment team on transactional, modelling or ad-hoc queries;
  • Assist in the production of procedure manuals covering all key aspects of the teams' remit.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Recently qualified or qualified accountant with industry experience;
  • Experience of working with different types of private markets fund wrappers e.g. Limited Partnerships an advantage;
  • Knowledge of IFRS and the UK SORP;
  • Experience of private credit and other private markets assets preferred but essential;
  • Excellent Excel skills
