Elizabeth Budd who is a financial services regulatory partner at Pinsent Masons LLP, delivered an informative and timely view of the UK Financial Services Brexit readiness to a group of SIO members 13 March 2019, at Pinsent Masons Fountainbridge Edinburgh office.
Elizabeth, who has extensive expertise advising asset managers, fund managers, depositaries, wealth managers, fund distributors including platforms and insurance companies on the constantly shifting regulatory landscape in the UK and EU, provided detail of the framework for the UK and EU to continue to carry on financial services and consider some of the practical implications.
After providing the big picture/context, Elizabeth and those attending explored the topics that applied to their roles and organisations.
A fantastic event and also a great opportunity for those attending to network.
The SIO value this partnership with Pinsent Masons and thank Kathryn Wynn and the rest of the Pinsent Masons team for hosting this event.
Also, watch out for the Blockchain event planned for May, where Pinsent Masons will provide a view on what legal and regulatory barriers may be holding back blockchain innovation as well as considering areas such as the client onboarding process, clearing and settlement of trades, regulatory reporting and other compliance purposes.
