Operational Risk for Non-Risk Managers Peer Learning Event

Sep 23, 2015

We were delighted to welcome over 30 investment professionals to our Operational Risk for Non-Risk Managers peer learning event on January 23rd.

We ran this session in partnership with colleagues from Glasgow Caledonian University's School for Business and Society. Academics Dr Patrick Ring and Claire McCann stiumated some excellent debate with their insights into academic models and thinking. Practitioners from industry shared their own experiences in small groups where they got to know each other and learned more about the business and risk culture within peer organisations.

One early testimonial from an attendee rated the event 20 out of 10 adding that it had been one of the most relevant and valuable sessions he had attended in over 15 years in the business.

We will shortly release our calendar of events for the balance of the year and will also be updating this website to enable online sign-up and newsletter opt-in's for members.

The event marked the first in a series of ongoing opportunities to better connect the industry and to learn from each other with the help of some influential contributors working in the fields of academia and business. These sessions are exclusive to SIO members and the content and focus is driven by a committee of practitioners working across our membership.

If you would like to enquire about attending future events, getting involved in shaping our programme or learn more about SIO membership, please don't hesitate to contact Alan Thornburrow on 07809 364 088 or alan.thornburrow@sio.org.uk.
