Asset Management
An equity investment firm specializing in global and international strategies with £16.1 billion under management, Walter Scott & Partners joined our roster of investment boutiques in May 2006, when it was acquired by Mellon Financial Corporation. In line with Mellon\\\'s multi-boutique asset management model, Walter Scott & Partners has remained an independent subsidiary with no change to its structure, investment philosophy or management team.
Newton Investment Management’s Private Investment Management (Newton PIM) division manages approximately £8 billion for clients and is one of the largest discretionary private client managers in Scotland. The money is managed in line with the Newton investment strategy through direct investments and pooled vehicles. In addition to client management, Newton PIM Edinburgh provides extensive operational services for the Newton private client division. It has 60 staff, based at Capital House.
Asset Servicing (Capital House and Blenheim Place)
Transfer Agency – The Transfer Agency business came to The Bank of New York through the company’s acquisition of RBS Trust Bank in 1999. This business flourished with the addition of many new mandates and has now grown even larger following The Bank of New York’s merger with Mellon Financial Corporation in July 2007.
The business today employs 465 people across these two sites. The Transfer Agency business of BNY Mellon now services 50 onshore and 93 offshore clients with a total of approximately 3,000,000 unit holders.
Other functions carried out from the Capital House and Blenheim Place sites include Performance & Risk Analytics Banking Operations and Client Management. Also located on these sites are compliance, facilities, HR and technology staff, all working within our Shared Services function.
