SIO Operations Management: Risk Culture & Risk Learning

This workshop builds upon a workshop in last year’s series which introduced the concepts of risk culture and risk learning in financial services organisations. In this workshop, we examine why it is so difficult to capture the idea of an organisation’s ‘risk culture’ and consider what managers and team members need to look out for in understanding how the risk culture in their organisation influences their work and behaviours. We also examine the importance of communication and learning in attempting to understand and alter cultural behaviours. This session will be led by Dr Patrick Ring and Dr Claire McCann.
